Teaser for 10th-generation Honda Civic Hatchback prototype debuting at two thousand sixteen Geneva Motor Display
Honda Civic Hatchback “Prototype”
A five-door hatchback was announced as part of the 10th-generation Civic lineup for the U.S. almost a year ago, and we’ll get our very first peek of that assets style at the Geneva showcase.
Aside from a shadowy teaser picture, Honda has not released any information on the hatchback, which it says will show up in “prototype” form at the showcase.
In the U.S., the hatchback will likely use the same powertrains as the Civic sedan and coupe, meaning buyers will choose inbetween a Two.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and a 1.5-liter turbocharged four.
The Civic hatchback is expected to go on sale in Europe in early 2017, with U.S. sales likely to commence sometime after that.
2017 Hyundai Ioniq
Already shown in its home market of South Korea, the two thousand seventeen Hyundai Ioniq could be a rival for several different green cars.
That’s because it will be suggested with hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery-electric powertrains. The car itself shares a platform with the two thousand seventeen Elantra compact sedan.
Hyundai has only shown the Ioniq Hybrid so far. It uses a model-specific 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, working with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and electrified motor.
Perhaps we’ll learn more about the plug-in hybrid and battery-electric versions in Geneva.
Or perhaps Hyundai will save that information for another appearance at the two thousand sixteen Fresh York Auto Showcase, which takes place shortly after Geneva.
2018 Lexus LC 500h
The LC 500h is a hybrid version of the LC five hundred luxury coupe Lexus unveiled at the two thousand sixteen Detroit Auto Demonstrate.
In place of that car’s Five.0-liter V-8 engine, the LC 500h employs a Three.5-liter V-6 and a pair of electrified motors that operate in a similar arrangement to the Hybrid Synergy Drive System used in previous Lexus and Toyota hybrids.
But the LC 500h’s “Lexus Multi-Stage Hybrid System” also includes a four-speed automatic transmission to augment the “e-CVT” arrangement of electrical motors. This creates a more involving driving practice, Lexus says.
Total system output is three hundred fifty four horsepower, permitting the LC 500h to do zero to sixty mph in under five seconds, according to the carmaker.
Morgan EV3 Three Wheeler
Anachronistic British carmaker Morgan is expected to unveil a production electrified version of its three Wheeler at the Geneva display.
This will likely be a refined version of the EV3 that debuted at the two thousand fifteen Goodwood Festival of Speed.
While it’s known for designs that predate World War II, Morgan is making a serious commitment to electrified powertrains.
In addition to the anticipated electrified three Wheeler, Morgan plans to suggest hybrid versions of all of its models by the end of the decade.
