Near the end of the pursue, officers and the suspects exchanged gunfire, MSHP troopers said. The pursuit ended when the suspects crashed their car in Hickory County, according to authorities. Deputies said Rummans drove the car and Harris was railing in the passenger seat.
At the end of the pursue, Rummans admitted to an MSHP investigator he was responsible for the shooting and robbery at R.C. Autobody and was accompanied by Harris.
Callaway County prosecutors charged Harris Friday with robbery, onslaught and armed criminal act. Harris was being held in Camden County Jail under no bond.
Rummans was being held at Grace Hospital for observation. Rummans will be booked when he is released from the hospital.
