3-car crash kills one in McMinnville, two airlifted
A child was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment
McMINNVILLE, Ore. (KOIN) – Three vehicles crashed on Hwy 99W about a mile south of McMinnville, killing one person and gravely injuring others, including a child that was airlifted for treatment.
The involved vehicles were a Pontiac with four people inwards; an SUV carrying three people; and a pickup truck pulling a utility trailer, the Oregon State Police told KOIN six News.
The Pontiac slowed or stopped to turn left and was hit from behind by the pickup truck. The oncoming SUV hit the Pontiac, while the pickup truck lost its trailer and went off the road and into a nearby home.

The passenger in the right front seat of the Pontiac, 29-year-old Jeremy King, died at the scene, officials said. There were two children in the backseat, and one of them was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. The children, a 7-year-old woman and 3-year-old boy, were both injured.
A 2nd medical helicopter took one of the passengers from the SUV to a hospital for treatment.
The SUV driver, 62-year-old Kris Painter, stayed at the scene and did not go to a hospital. Laurie Painter, 59, was airlifted to Salem for treatment Two others, 82-year-old Shirley Robins and 27-year-old Brittany Painter, were taken by ambulance to a Salem hospital.
Justin Sauers, the driver of the pickup truck, was taken to a McMinnville hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Investigators believe the 24-year-old to be at fault in this crash.
